Aluminum hydroxide is a halogen-free flame retardant that has three major functions: flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and filling. It does not cause secondary pollution during combustion, not only can be flame retardant, but also can prevent smoking, produc e no droplets, and produce no toxic gases.

The application of aluminum hydroxide in the carpet industry mainly utilizes its flame retardant and filling performance. Generally, the aluminum hydroxide used in carpets is fine grained products D50<20μm.
